Our first funded Project
In 2016, with a generous grant from The Pollination Project, we launched “One Tree at a Time” tree nursery; that was our first such funded Project. Nairobi City County kindly lent us a space behind Kayole II Social Hall to start our tree nursery and a handful of Kayole Mtaa Safi Youth have been keeping it running.
Since then our project has evolved to meet the needs of the ever-growing community. Kayole is one of the fastest growing suburbs in one of the fastest growing cities in Africa. This small area is home to over half a million people. Unemployment is high, and food security is becoming a big issue. Young people are more than willing to work, but the opportunities aren’t there.
